Visa information

Note that temporary visitors are generally not covered by Medicare - the public healthcare system in Australia - unless there is a reciprocal healthcare agreement between Australia and your country. It is therefore essential to have adequate medical insurnace during your visit because medical treatment in Australia can be very expensive.Air travel
Sydney has one international and domestic airport, Kingsford Smith.
Australian customs places restrictions on plant and animal goods entering and leaving Australia. If you are unsure declare all animal and plant materials to customs, Australia has a fragile ecosystem that needs to be protected. For more information see also list of prohibited goods.
Ground transport
Taxi: It is approx $60 taxi fare and 40 minutes to travel from the airport to Cronulla. Call 131 008 for a taxi (Australia-wide booking).
Public transport: Cronulla is also connected by rail to Sydney Airport Cityrail train route map.
For public transport around Sydney: Train, bus and ferry tickets are bought as one-way tickest for short trips and return tickets must be used on the day of purchase. There are also other travel pass options, please see Cityrail fares

(Rental) Car: Be aware of Sydney tolls when driving. The Road and Traffic Authority provides a list of roads that charge toll. Driving tips for international drivers in Australia are available on the Road and Traffic Authority web site. You can plan your route by using the online service whereis.com.au.
Cars can be hired at Sydney airport as well as locally. For a list of car hire companies serach the Yellow Pages.
